Riceboat - Day Cruise in the Backwaters.

Yes, There are backwaters near Guruvayur, Thrissur. The backwaters of Thrissur consists of Chettuva Lake, Enammave kayal and Canoli Canal which connects Manalur, Chettuva, Kadassankadave and Triprayar. These backwaters are part of national waterway.

Being pioneers of backwater tourism in Thrissur, with an experience of 30 years in backwater tourism in Kerala, we present the first, one and only original Kettuvallom Cruise in Thrissur with unmatched personal service.

Large Kettuvallom of 45 feet length and 7.5 feet width is modified for comfortable cruise. The boat runs on outboard engine. The roof is made of Bamboo, betelnut wood and bamboo mats. The boat has a capacity of 10 adults and has bathroom facility. The boat has 2 staff on board.

The boat trip starts from Vettakkorumakan Kadave near Vettakkorumakan Temple in Engandiyoor Village, 21 kms from Thrissur (14 kms from Guruvayoor) and comes back to the same place. Safe parking facilities are provided here. The boat moves through calm, quite and scenic backwaters in fishermen villages and come back to the boarding point.

You may come across otters, temples, fishermen collecting mussels or trying numerous methods to catch fish such as Prawns, Crabs, Karimeen (Pearl spotted fish), Mullet, Red Snapper, Trevally, Silver biddy and much more.

Sunrice Cruise.

The party may ideally reach the boarding point by 05.45 AM.
Sunrise, a lot of fishing activities and visiting the Mangrove forests in Chettuva lake. (Entering inside the forest is subject to high tide.)

Breakfast can be served on board @ Rs 150 / person.

Morning Cruise
3 hours - 09.00 AM to 12.00 Noon
Includes visiting the Mangrove forests in Chettuva lake. Entering inside the forest is subject to high tide.

If you choose morning trip, lunch could be served at Coconut Island.

Dinner can be served at Coconut Island.
Serving charge at Coconut Island: Rs 2000 / team / 2 hours.
Dropping to mainland by Rowing boat. There is a small dining space with table and chairs with tiled roof at the Island. Bathroom facilities are provided. Does not include any bedrooms.

Sunset Cruise

3 hours - 03.30 PM to 06.30 PM
Includes visiting the Mangrove forests in Chettuva Lake and witnessing Sunset. Includes Tea and snacks (one fried Banana) on board.
Price: Rs 7000 / boat / 3 hours
Entering inside the forest is subject to high tide.
Witnessing the Sunset is subject to weather conditions.

Dinner can be served at Coconut Island.
Serving charge at Coconut Island: Rs 2000 / team / 2 hours.
Dropping to mainland by Rowing boat. There is a small dining space with table and chairs with tiled roof at the Island. Bathroom facilities are provided. Does not include any bedrooms.
