H2: Mangroves by Country Boat 

The trip starts from Chettuva, 800 meters deviation from the Kochi - Chavakkad National Highway. Experienced boat man takes you by a biiger country boat towards the Chettuva Kandal kadu (mangroves) which is the biggest patch of mangrove forest in Kerala. The boat is suitable for 2 to 4 persons. 

The ideal time for trip is either from 04.30 PM to 06.00 PM or during high tide. Please check with us for good timing, availability and booking.

You can see fishermen in the lake fishing with numerous methods catching crabs, prawns, Karimeen, Prayi, Kanambu etc. You can go around the forest to avail photo opportunities in front of vast and tall greenery. During high tides, you can enter the mangrove by boat and witness birds such as Brahminy kite, King fisher, cormorant, Indian Pond Heron etc. If you are on a lucky day, you may see some otters too.
